Mercure hotels across Australia are getting "down to earth" having teamed up with the Carbon Reduction Institute to go green on conferencing. Under the Mercure Meetings package event organising can expect a carbon neutral conference product as Mercure Hotels will fully fund offsets for carbon emissions produced during the event.
The Royal Pines Resort owned by Morgan Stanley is on the market, two months after the US investment giant posted $10 billion in losses from sub-prime mortgages. Hotel staff recently told of the sale plans, have been assured that it was not under any financial pressure to sell the property and it would be business as usual. The sale, which will go to international tender, will include the 330-room hotel, its 27-hole composite golf course and its real estate sales division.
