Hi,

Many states in Australia are currently going through severe natural disasters. The East Coast has been ravaged by extremes of fire, drought and torrential rains. Beginning a few weeks ago, the Northern area of the East Coast has been experiencing the worst flooding in more than 30 years where 62 percent of Queensland has been submerged for weeks. These figures are expected to rise, as the tropical monsoon season is approaching.

Following the floods, intense wildfires began throughout the state of Victoria on 7 February, resulting in a total death toll of over 200 to date. The regional areas surrounding Melbourne are experiencing the brunt of these fires, which have been labeled as some of the worst and deadliest fires seen in the world. Over 1,800 homes and 4,000 hectares have been destroyed by these fires.

This unfortunate combination of factors has seen people hesitant to travel to these destinations for their conferences. In the months ahead, the best thing we can do in support of their economic recovery is to schedule our business meetings into these regional areas wherever possible.

The team here at Key Conference Solutions have a wealth of information about regional venues and can help in finding venues that meet your needs, provide proposals and arrange site inspections - just give us a call on +613 9870 4611.
